Session Description:
Many health systems are reevaluating their imaging infrastructure—but navigating terms like cloud, SaaS, hosted, and hybrid can create more confusion than clarity. If you’re trying to understand where Cloud and/or SaaS fit into your imaging roadmap, this session is designed to help.

We break down the differences, discuss common misconceptions, and share insights from AGFA’s own journey from hosted cloud to Real SaaS. You’ll gain a clearer understanding of what’s possible, what to watch out for, and how to move forward with confidence—on your terms.

In this session we cover:

  • What differentiates SaaS from hosted or hybrid models
  • The risks of lift-and-shift approaches: why hosted PACS ≠ SaaS
  • How cloud-native design benefits clinical users, IT, and operations
  • Lessons from AGFA’s own SaaS transformation
  • What to expect from a real SaaS in terms of time investment, scalability, upgrades, and TCO

Whether you're just starting to explore cloud or refining your strategy, this session will bring clarity to Cloud vs. SaaS — and help you determine if either is the right fit for your organization.
